Good afternoon. I'm Joy from Valrico, Florida. I was lucky enough to move into a house that has "banana palms" in the yard. I've lived here for a while (7 years!) but this is the first year the bananas actually turned yellow and I decided to try to eat one. I have no idea what kind they are. Unfortunately the peels of my bananas are splitting and there seems to be something else eating them. In hoping to utilize this site to identify my bananas and figure out some natural pest treatments. Thanks in advance for sharing your collective wisdom.
Joy

Just copy the Url under your pic's when you looking @ them and paste them to / into a thread post.. http://www.bananas.org/gallery/watermark.php?file=55765&size=1 (http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=55765) but you have to select the Picture icon to paste for the pic to show up.. :^)

Yes ......here.
You should have an answer from the pros on what kind of plant you have soon.
The search function is a good source for information.

Yes ......here.
Here seems a little deep for me. I just don't want to become a nuisance asking a bunch of newbie questions :( I just happened across a post about cutting off the bananas while they were green. I haven't had any bananas until now because I was waiting for them to turn yellow on the plant! Oops

(I do try to search 1st but sometimes I don't word it right or am overwhelmed by all the information.) The members here are very nice and very patient. We need more XXers here--stick around!
