Handle broke off on drivers door of my 15 year old Camry. Handy tag now opens door and permits other functions besides driving. Neat huh! The wife was sort of amused - it's her car.

Kinda confused why you didn't just replace it. Just found replacements on Ebay for $7 with free shipping.

I do appreciate the 'farmer fix' though LOL.

In Kentucky we would use Kentucky Chrome to fix that.....silver duct tape.
But y'all's down there use stuff that really worx.
