Just picked up some Lemon Thyme and Mother of Thyme Plants I've never grown Thyme before just wondering if anyone is /has grown it and is it hardy enough for my bee's to work it?

Thyme flowers are mauve & pretty hardy Thyme is easy to grow.
Is a useful herb to add to fish dishes .
How are your bees going?
Your hives look great!

If you were only going to grow one variety of thyme for cooking, "Mother Of Thyme" is it! And besides being a great tasting herb, it is hardy even in the snows of New York State.

I don't grow it... Too busy, no thyme.

Our local bees go bonkers over the mint, which can be slightly invasive. Mint has a long bloom cycle so if you have an out of the way corner, hammer in a pile of crowns.
(need some?)
We do have thyme here too, but if you're looking primarily at bee food, mint takes the cake. Makes tasty tea, too

Ya got me on that one, I'll have to ask the "warden". ;)

How are ya fixed for loquat trees? They bloom Nov - Feb/March, not a huge amount but every little grain of pollen & nectar helps the little critters out during a normally lean time of year.

Oh yah; rosemary is another good bee snack that goes great in the BBQ/smoker.
