About Uurù | Uurú bananas (http://www.uuru.de/en/about-uuru.html).
The pink on the petioles makes me think FHIA-17

This website reports that this is a cavendish variety with Gros Michel flavor. I like how they refer to the GM as "ancient".
Fruit importer Weichert presents a new banana variety Uurú (http://www.freshplaza.com/article/117662/Fruit-importer-Weichert-presents-a-new-banana-variety-Uur%C3%BA)
However this webiste reports that its very different from cavendish

I imagine that Cavendish was seen as "exotic" in the early days.

It's interesting that they are using sand as a well-draining potting mix and "Weeds are used as natural fertilisers."
It's like what small farmers are doing in Africa, India and in other parts of the world.

Would love to try them! I wonder if any nurseries are offering this one?
