What the heck is that? I say "happy new year" and you name a vegetable.:ha:And spell it wrong!

I was born under the horse year. Not sure what that means for me. Will I gallop and whinny or not? According to the 1st link Ab posted, I might should be concerned:

5) According to superstition, in your zodiac year you will offend Tai Sui, the god of age, and will experience bad luck for the whole year. To avoid this you should wear something red, which has been given to you by someone else. In general, the lucky colours of team horse are are green, red and purple; the lucky numbers are three, four and nine, and the lucky flowers are giant taro and jasmine.

Darn, I am old; this doesn't look good.

Wait! I have an old silk robe of red gifted to me years ago by my octogenarian neighbor who took a trip to China; I shall wear it everywhere. (Who cares if others think I'm silly and weird; Tai Sui will be satisfied.) Okay, maybe I'll keep that for home. I love purple and shall don that. My eyes are green so I can't help wearing "them" daily. Perhaps I have this color stuff under control.

My lucky number is 13 which includes a 3; I was born in the 4th month. I've got 2 of 3 handled.

I have some Confederate jasmine growing; taro is very invasive here so that's off the list but I'm 1 ahead.

Fingers crossed I'll survive this year.

The spirit of the horse is recognized to be the Chinese people's ethos – making unremitting efforts to improve themselves. It is energetic, bright, warm-hearted, intelligent and able. Ancient people liked to designate an able person as 'Qianli Ma', a horse that covers a thousand li a day (one li equals 500 meters).

Strengths
People born in the year of the horse have ingenious communicating techniques and in their community they always want to be in the limelight. They are clever, kind to others, and like to join in a venture career. Although they sometimes talk too much, they are cheerful, perceptive, talented, earthy but stubborn. They like entertainment and large crowds. They are popular among friends, active at work and refuse to be reconciled to failure, although their endeavor cannot last indefinitely.

Weaknesses
They cannot bear too much constraint. However their interest may be only superficial and lacking real substance. They are usually impatient and hot blooded about everything other than their daily work. They are independent and rarely listen to advice. Failure may result in pessimism. They usually have strong endurance but with bad temper. Flamboyant by nature, they are wasteful since they are not good with matters of finance due to a lack of budgetary efficiency. Some of those who are born in the horse like to move in glamorous circles while pursuing high profile careers. They tend to interfere in many things and frequently fail to finish projects of their own.

Sometimes they doubt themselves too much, leading to a gradual loss of confidence. When finishing a task, they seek confirmation again and again from people around them.
