About Sulfate of Potash --- trick I got from a certified organic nurseryman. Apply just before bloom shows to force the flower a bit earlier. The stuff I got is from Diamond K --- the ultra fines version 0-0-50 ---- 2 to 3 tbls per mat for 2 applications one week apart. Got all my mature naners to the fruit stage last year to avoid the cold --- which luckily never came. Great stuff!!!

I think this one qualifies.. I had 12 flowers this last year with this bit of knowledge.. :^)

I am a firm believer of a Mycorrhizae root dusting and Epsoma Plantone or Hollytone to kick start the root system, that is what I use on some of my new plants. I used about a cup each in a ten gallon container when I up potted this banana last summer.
Once that foundation is laid I'm good. Over winter this plant filled a ten gallon container with thick fuzzy white roots edge to edge while adding about 12 inches in height and 5 new leaves.
Side note.... this plant outgrew a Viente (Cohol) under the same conditions by 3x....pretty robust outcome for being under lights, this was not expected.

I'm a firm believer too.. Big Fuzzy roots leads to big healthy plants.. The Plant being referred to above is AE AE if your wondering..:^)

I like that stuff, too. However, using a cup of it like the quote says, seems an awful lot... I paid $30 plus shipping for 8 oz from Peaceful Valley.

Well that is an awful high price to pay for so little.. I used to get mine from Richard (The 25lb bag, but he has 1lb for $19.61 (http://www.plantsthatproduce.com/gm-myco-grow-1lb.html)) in a larger quantity, and previous to that from Marshall Grain Company in the 11lb bag.
I don't know about the cup method, but a half cup for sure mixed thoroughly into my soil mix.. I always coat the bottom of the Banana in question that's getting planted as well.. :^)

That would be a cup each of Espoma Plantone and Hollytone......not Mychorrhizae.
I liberally dust the roots with the Mych.

Thanks for the clarification. That is pretty much how I do it.
Makes better sense now. Great product!
