My Siam Ruby has a pup about 5 inches tall and it's starting to go red , Cool . This answers my question about if the pups will come true to colour, also there is now another tiny pup coming. Perhaps this because Siam Ruby will prove to be a short growing Musa or perhaps it's a Tissue Culture trait. Any comments on what's happening with growth habits, or theories about what is to come in the future. I guess the Florida boys will be the first to flower this plant , cannot wait to see the pics.

TC plants often form pups very early but they are not good as planting material, they are called water suckers and if detached will not be able to easily live on their own, and if they do survive they are often weak and poor plants. Once it gets to a decent "sturdy" size, it will start to produce normal suckers that can be used for propagation.

But if you have a picture or can describe the pups, it would help more in understanding whether they are ok to propagate or not.

Hi Gabe , I hope all is going well with the studies and such.
I uploaded pics to my gallery here.Thank for the info on water pups, I never knew the difference before between the type of pups but once I saw the pics and info here and had a good look at the Musa in my garden the difference is clear. So I guess this is a water pup , it will be interesting to see how the next one turns out.
