Have some all white pups coming. The leaf looks tinted green in this picture, but is really just white. It's coming off one that I thought was going to be all white, but grew out of it to be nicely variegated.

I would guess maybe 1/3 have been albino. In the past I've killed them since I read that they won't grow on their own. Since learning they can survive and even fruit if left attached to the corm, I've decided to see what happens with this one. Others I've had didn't get past this point. I'm not sure what is supposed to be normal. No pattern that I can figure out. My other 2 are putting out only variegated pups. I've never had an all green pup, which I've read is not uncommon.
Beautiful plants! Do they make striped bananas? ;)

If anyone can get them to thrive, I'm sure you can!

Yes they do. See my avatar. Fruit inside is like any other.
Yes they do. See my avatar. Fruit inside is like any other.I didn't realize those were striped in your avatar but I'm old and I wear peepers. ;) From what I've read, my variegated pink lemon makes striped fruit that fades to pure yellow when ripe.

ARH's pup like crazy, but the ae puts out enough.
There was 7 new pups today and I'm in the triple digits, so I can't complain.
Sign me up for one I need to complement the tanee :08:

at the rate your going you might be able to single handedly bring down the price of AeAe and make it a common banana..who needs TC when you got PR-GIANTS to grow em out for you :ha:

Wow, you are doing a great job with these. I do not think Ae Ae will do very well where I am in FL. If the price were cheap I would give it a try at this point.

What if anything have you found regarding growth pattern (start and stop). I have a pup on my aeae that has been sitting for several months without growth while the main plant has flowered and produced fruit. The plant is located in Hollywood Florida and the temps in general have been around 80. I fertilized with lesco 13-3-13 granules and am hoping for some growth. Or is it that the temperature is still not ideal for growth stimulus.

KJ lives on a mountain of Azomite. In PR they call it Boricuamite!!!
It will sprout the oldest dried up seeds sooner or later.

Could you take more pictures of the mother plant. Even if the leaves show little in the way of variegation the stem and petioles do have the white and green lines consistent with variegation which means to me that the plant has cell lines for both white and green and therefore can produce variegated pups in addition to all white (albino) and all green (normal) pups. Likewise a beautiful highly variegated mother plant can give all green pups in addition to the others.
