Okay, last night I deleted 100 pictures from my gallery. One should think, that
this will create room for two new ones. Not so!
I do not see any point in throwing all these photos out, if there is no tangible result
from it.
Neither do I see much point in continuing in this forum, if illustration of my posts is
blocked off. Where is the administration in this? Has this forum been abandoned?
Any good recommendations for alternate forums?
Thoroughly p.o'd Olaf

I have been trying to contact the administrator on this since Tuesday without
receiving a beep of a reply.

for a guy that is an administrator of a website you would think he would be on more often? he must be having personal issues if you do contact him try to be nice about it I know how frustrating that might be but you never know what people are dealing with goodluck

I recall reading sometime ago from someone on these forums that stated " I deleted my pics from the gallery, however, I found out that the are still on the server sucking up my space, and are still stopping me to upload to the forums"
I do not know who posted it.......
Who was that person????:lurk:

I went through this too. Reduced my pics to 4 pages and still couldn't post a pic. In a couple of days the counter updated itself and all was ok.
Delete older pics periodically and keep track of the free space and it won't happen again.
And don't complain --- membership is free, always has been.
Or talk to Harvey - he likes complaints!:ha:

What do I use? Gee I use Photo Bucket when there is a picture glitch. Truth be known there are graphic upload problems with a lot of forums. Because over the years so many people spam them. So oddly enough one of the safe gards built-in was to turn off the upload feature if a certain level of activity occurred.
That dont make ya feel real good when your trying to tidy up your account ;) But it does seem to help with some spam attacks.

Please be careful deleting your gallery pics if the picture is tied to a post they will not be visible in the post. I hate reading post and then the pictures are not there.

Thank you Darkman, I did not delete any of those, which I thought most
important for future reference, however some may well now missing from the
odd post :(
I am not posting anything new, until I have had some response to my pleas
from the administration. That may well be forever.

I'll throw out my two cents in case anyone finds it useful.
My method is to use Blogger to sidestep the issue: I upload my pics to a new blog post there, then copy and paste the html from that post editor to the one here. I do this because:
1) the pic system here is clunky imo and I don't want to mess with it;
2) I don't want to lose my pics and accompanying posts, and I think Blogger/Google is less likely to disappear than this site is. I don't mean to diss or cast doubt at this site's staying power, it's just nice having a backup of my pics and accompanying posts at a mega-funded behemoth like Blogger/Google.
To be clear, that other blog is just a private diary-like thing for my own use. I don't allow others to join or post comments and I don't try to drive traffic there. So it's not like I'm running a blog and copy&pasting posts here for double impact or anything, it's the other way around: I'm a poster here who uses that personal blog as a depository to upload and backup my pics for this site.
