I have contacted the administration, which had earlier advised me to make payment
"unless I had arranged for automatic withdrawal originally". I have no idea, what
arrangements I made in 2010. I cannot remember making any additional payments
in the meantime. so I assumed it had been taken care of.
When I recently tried to upload photos, I was denied, "because they exceeded my space
allowance", or something to that effect.
Assuming that had to do with expired membership, I sent an enquiry to the
administration on last Tuesday on how I can let them have those 5 bucks, something
I had not been able to figure out. To this date I have not received any reply.

That is, what I thought, so why do I get this email?:
Dear Olafhenny,
Your access to the paid subscription "Yearly Bananas.org Membership - $5 per year" is about to expire.
If you have selected a recurring subscription you will be automatically billed for the renewal, else to
renew this subscription you must visit http://www.bananas.org/payments.php
If you do not extend your subscription, access will be removed.
All the best,
Bananas.org
And when I click on that URL I get:
“Bananas.org does not have any paid subscriptions available to which you can subscribe.”
And if this is all a hoax, then why do my photos, which are the same size as always,
suddenly get (true copy): DSC03946.JPG (exceeds your space limitation), DSC03927.JPG
(exceeds your space limitation)
And why can I not get an answer from the administration?

I have not been able to load pix for over a year. Photo space at one time was unlimited that change .Your not the only one that has exceeded your space limit.Has nothing to do with $5

Thank you, Tony, then, ifI cannot upload any more photos, there is really no point
in remaining on this site.

well because this website was not made properly you have to go to (photo gallery) then (my albums) it only works when you go to my albums so im not sure if it deletes just one pic or the entire album but if you get a sd card then you can be care free and delete away! :) hope that helps

oh and a simple way to do it is to make a delete album and send all the picks you don't want into it and then delete. it works best for organizing your pics so people can be like oh nice turkey! or oh sexy banana! yea im a stalker I saw that turkey/pheasant bird thing it was WAY COOL! :ukkibannana:

I have reduced the number of my photos from 497 to 397.
I have figured out, that when I keep the finger on "control", I can click a number
of photos and retrieve them from the top bar one by one and delete them. I do
not have to open the site anew for each picture, as I did at first. :)
Now I am going to bed. I'll figure out tomorrow, if it has helped any.

Okay, last night I deleted 100 pictures from my gallery. One should think, that
this will create room for two new ones. Not so!
I do not see any point in throwing all these photos out, if there is no tangible result
from it.
Neither do I see much point in continuing in this forum, if illustration of my posts is
blocked off. Where is the administration in this? Has this forum been abandoned?
Any good recommendations for alternate forums?
Thoroughly p.o'd Olaf

Olaf, you sent me a PM to ask me to look into this. I am a moderator and can edit messages, delete messages, ban spammers, etc. I can't change the function of the forum any more than you can. Jarred ("MediaHound") is the only one that can do that.
Many forums do not have a gallery at all and yet are very successful and useful methods for discussion of various subjects (i.e., bananas). Many people host their photos elsewhere and that seems like a simple solution. If you want to make it into a bigger issue, that's your choice.
I would imagine the membership renewal letter went out automatically to those who once paid a membership fee. As others have said, there is no such fee. With the absence of the fee (which some folks complained about), the photo storage space was reduced to help save on costs. At the same time, we got more spammers. I don't get paid anything for dealing with that.

Thank you, Harvey.
I wished they'd let me pay those 5 bucks and not restrict the storage on photos.
Best,
Olaf

Most forums just have the users post pictures from offsite hosting websites(like Photobucket, which I use). Only some forums have galleries and I'm not sure I've seen many that had unlimited storage for members.
I like to see lots of pictures, but it doesn't matter if it's linked from photobucket or hosted on the gallery here, as long as they show up somewhere!
