I know of fertilizer injection, where nutrients are injected into irrigation water but not of direct injection into plants. Please expand.

I had a guy come in with an injector to save 3 newly planted river birch trees. They were 18 ft tall with big root balls. Had 3 main trunks each. A week after they were installed all three had their 3 trunks drooping. I kept up the watering like the landscape outfit said but they kept drooping till the tips touched the ground. Soil was the red clay common in NC.

The power injector hose runs from a big tank on a truck. You punch the 8 inch nozzle into the ground around the tree and pull the trigger till the ground swells slightly. Continue all around the tree.

It worked real well. The next day the trunks were 1/2 way back up. In a week you couldn't tell any thing was wrong. Repeated the procedure 6 months later. When I left NC after 12 years those trees had grown 25 ft taller and provided great shade for the house.
