:(
Sad. I hate winter. Even in CA without snow it can get too cold for my taste...
Hope your plants will survive.

oh they'll survive just fine, they're basjoo. This is their second and third years so far here in Indiana....It's not normal for it to be 60 one day and snowing the next though! they hadn't even been frosted yet, we have had the weirdest weather. The trees are barely starting to color up and now it's already snowed..

Sandy
come on down to Oklahoma. That kind of weather is normal. I have to carry winter and summer gear in my car for that exact reason. My basjoo have never been snowed on while in leaf though. It looks pretty cool.

It's been below 32 a couple times already this month, but my Basjoo is still tall and stiff and green. Tough plants!
Not looking forward to tonight, though, certain to get down into the mid 20's. We'll see what they look like in the morning. Might be time to cut and bury for the winter.

Hope your plants will survive.I do, too. It's still fall but I dug out a pair of jeans and a light jacket today; it was just under 50 this morning. I am not putting away my shorts; there's a warming trend coming and I am a minimalist at heart. If I never see snow again, I'll die a happy camper.

It gets a lil to cold running around in my reef's, and socks get wet up here.. :^)
It gets a lil to cold running around in my reef's, and socks get wet up here.. :^)You don't know what "lil" cold is until you've trudged 1000' to the chicken coop with a bucket of hot water sloshing into your boots as you navigate through 3' of snow in 14 F weather with a bitter wind whipping at 15 MPH and icy droplets pelting you in the face just to discover that the feed can is empty so you have another 3000 feet to go again to get at least a scoop or 2 to make sure they're fed just so you can collect 3 very cold eggs from 20 hens who are giving up nearly nuthin' because they're just as tired of winter as you are.
Which is why I have lots of spare socks should they get a bit damp...

Not as cold here, but I would do anything for my little fertilizer machines....
