Well I decided to go ahead and take out all of the seeds from my lone pomegranate and make me a drank:}

See pics of the fairly easy process below...

I got approx. 4-5 oz of drank and one of the coolest stained white tee-shirt's and dish towels you ever seen too:}

I'm going to have to like dat me!

Oh and it tasted pretty darn good too yeah.

I thought you had to get the pulp off and that's why it's so expensive. Hmmm...I guess I'll work harder to save my poor little pomegranate plant that hasn't thrived at all. I think maybe she's too dry.

For those of us who desire a bountiful Pomegranate harvest, Dr. Bill Castle of UoFL is currently running trials on POM varities and should be releasing some information soon. Some information that has been released is indicating that POMs will do better in North FL than other parts of FL.

Use this site and the drop down menu for a incredible amount of information.

UF/IFAS Citrus Extension: Pomegranates for Now (http://www.crec.ifas.ufl.edu/extension/pomegranates/)

Azadi and Desertnyi are currently favored by Dr. Castle.

Maybe in a few years this plant will be easy to grow!!!
