So when I purchased these bananas, I only purchased the cormbs of the plant - Dwarf Namwah and a Caligold. They were growing in 20 gallon containers until we purchased our land, cleared it and were able to put them in the ground. Which was July of this year, 2013. My only questions are regards to winterizing them. I'm not fond of the "massacre / chop them down" idea and I have no other way to store them if I were to dig them up. Any feed back please would help. Below is a photo of the 13 month old plants. On the left is the Caligold and the right is the D.Namwah with a pup. The plants are just at 6 feet tall. They get fertilized with banana fuel about every 45 days.

iaght boy, this is what you gotta do first ask your wife if you can store bananas in your home then find a place in your house with enough sun light. dig them up pot them up in big ole 15-25 gallon pot cut only the lower leafs so you have no less then 6 leafs growing at a time and then make sure u have a plastic winter seal over the window your placing them at and the best is clear 4 mill. oh and ps: send me that pup :) i have a sunroom i would take great care of it :) maybe a trade can be involved

or use the half way method.... its to wait until a frost hits the leafs so they look like crap anyway so you dont feel as bad cutting all them off dig it up chop all the leafs off and wraping the entire steam in bubble wrap and cleaning the root ball with warm water so theres no soil and tucker it away in the garage. this makes it so u still let it grow for where it started last year oh and dont forget to put a snuggy on it BANANAS LOVE SNUGGYS

Yo I appreciate the feedback to everybody. We actually had an idea of doing a hoop house with two layers of 6mil plastic and super mulching around the plants. But there's no way of putting a heater because on our property we dont have electric and we haven't had the water ran out. We hall water from our house out to the land when we need to water in 6 gallon jugs on our fruit trees.

think i'm going to try the hoop house because our property is a 30-45 minute drive from the current house and we dont own a trailer or big enough vehicle to transport them like how we did when they were small.

Where in the world can I find frost cloth at? Never heard of it. I'm googling and all I see is frost blankets that are .5 oz - 2.5 oz
