Hello Gang ;

This is my 1st Orionoco Bunch , its not a full bunch but cant wait to have these as Tostones , i dont want to have them as desert bananas.

The Flower bloomed late August.
When will these be ready to harvest as Green Plantains ?

Thank You Ed..

I don't know how long they take to get to the tostones stage, but congrats on getting them this far! :bananas_b

Depends how much heat they get. In good tropical conditions, 3+ months. In cool conditions, 10 months.

Not filled in enough Ed. Fingers look to be about 75% filled. Wait till the skin bulges a bit between the finger edges. Then do tostones right away. :nanadrink::woohoonaner:

... Also does any one knows way this Orinoco didn't produce a full bunch ? it did have 4 huge Pups that i cut away last week , or are Orinoco poor producers?The size of the bunch can vary quite a bit depending on a whole pile of different conditions; kicking up the potassium in the fertilizer can help some, but sometimes it seems like it just depends on how your plant is "feeling" at the time.
Have ya tried having a talk with the critter? ;)

Orinoco doesn't generally produce huge bunches, but that one is smaller than normal. Something was not to that plant's liking.
