My D Nam Wah Mat produced these 2 bunches side by side . One is the same nice green color I expect and the other looks more like my Blue Java

They're not. But sometimes Namwah bunches produce a similar blue wax on the fruit. I'm sure if you tried both of them you'd notice a huge difference between the two. I have tried Namwah and not BJ, but I hear BJ doesn't even compare. Blue Java's growth habit is also different from that of Namwah; it's a taller, more slender plant, and Namwah is stout.

I know that there are dwarf Namwahs but the Namwahs that I seen are a lot taller than the real Blue Java. My Blue Java fruited at about 10ʻ. I see Namwahs at 15ʻ

I was saying that Blue Java tends to have a thinner, more slender pseudostem than Namwah.

Speaking of Blue Java, I wonder how the one I planted up in Santa Clara is doing? I remember by mid July it had more than doubled in size since its planting in May. I'll make sure to get pics when I move back up there in a week. :)

There are at least three varieties of "Namwah" (Pisang Awak subgroup) available in the mainland US, and they differ in height: Dwarf Namwah (6-9'), "Misi Luki" (10-12'), and "Ice Cream" (12-15'). At least those are the heights they get to in my yard. "Misi Luki" is not particularly stout, though more so than the real Blue Java, but the other two are thick.

I've noticed the same as Mark here in Hawaii. I've only had 1 harvested bunch on each of my Misi Luki and Ele Ele that was clearly a Tall Namwah. The Tall (TC from mainland) is the biggest plant (and bunch) I've had so far, and the Misi Luki (bought locally as a pup, don't know origin of the mother plant) fruited a couple feet shorter, not as beefy of a plant-fruit tasted the same. DN hasn't fruited yet, but is more stout, just a very thick p-stem for the height so far at maybe 5'. The plant I dug up the pup from was unique in how thick it was & even quite small in my yard was clearly different than the other 2 Namwahs.
None of my namwahs have been as blue as in the 2nd pic. But even today, the blue-green namwah hands I had for sale, people just assumed they were Ice Creams.
