I received this banana in a trade, the nice lady didn't know what it was.
I don't either, I am hoping someone can tell me so I can put a proper tag on it other than "unknown trade" It's handsome and I like it...what is it?
Maybe pin it down to an ornamental or edible if nothing else?

Hey twins...LOL
I actually think it is one of the better looking bananas in my yard, the leaves don't shred like many of the others and it's real stout looking.
Fred I'm with you, many bananas do look so much the same, then I started really looking at some differences on just my green varieties, several of which I have no ID for but are small yet. I noticed this one has a more broad square leaf tip, unlike my 1000 fingers that has a more pointed leaf tip...that thing shreds with a slight breeze...I don't care I want to see 400 pounds of those tiny bananas...LOL
I have types that have red leaf bottoms, maroon splotches, I know what those are but the green ones slay me...lOL

Had to go look...Yes it does, enough that it comes off on your fingers all white.
Thanks for your input!

Those pups! They look good!
Yes some of us have to also take the 5th...for instance this one I got from the woods, I must have been a hoot walking down the street 5 foot pup and a shovel.

Found this banana mat in a strange area on the edge with a pecan tree, walnut tree, some old papaya trees and other odd volunteers for the area, really out of place in a wooded area only gremlin's like me can get into.
Another one I haven't a clue about...maybe eventually

It's not Rajapuri, which has open petiole canals lined with red. Looks most like Dwarf Orinoco to me, but could be Dwarf Namwah. The second one looks like Orinoco. But without seeing the bunch/fruit of these, can't be sure.
