:2709: Post your Chili Peppers! :2709:

I'm growing a few peppers. Next year I want to add to the collection.

Cayenne
Aji Dulce
Jalapeno
Hungarian Wax
Fish (just mysteriously died this week but I saved seed)
Habanero
Italian Gourmet
Sweet Bell
Scorpion
Ghost
S h i s h i t o (the board code thinks it's a curse word)
Pablano
Serano

And one mystery plant. Maybe a Thia Pepper of some sort. Very spicy! It just showed up and I let it grow. Any pepper heads want to try to ID it?

I know there was a Chile Pepper thread started here long ago but that person no longer posts here.

Pepper ID help needed.

This is what all the leaves looked like while it was growing up to about 3-4 feet tall. Notice how curly and odd shaped they are? At this point i though it was a weed but was curious to see how it matured so I left it alone.

Now the leaves look more like a pepper plant.

And the flowers made me start wondering if was a pepper.

Then yesterday I broke off a branch that was in the way of a banana pup removal and noticed all the little peppers on it! Not mature but that's the best I can provide at this point.

Today I noticed it has some cool purple color.

So anyway the plant is currently about 6 feet tall. The peppers point down. They are hot little peppers!

Any idea what kind it is?

I'm have serious issues that I believe are caused by Pepper Weevils. I'm finding peppers falling of the plants while still immature and they all have one tiny hole in them with rotted seeds inside. All of my peppers are effected. Anyone have first hand experience with this?

Any idea what this is? I'm thinking a variety of Capsicum fructescens.

I have some very nice Cayenne pepper plants growing since I planted them among my banana's. Can't beat a cayenne pepper when making a pot roast to add just enough flavor to the mix, and no other spices are required. :^)

I'm no expert, but after some research I've found information and pictures that closely resemble your chili.

Idk but how are they? Looks nice.

It was very spicy. It didn't start to kick in until about 5 or 10 seconds after I ate it, but it was intense, and it lasted for around 10 minutes. Other than that the flavor was similar to a bell pepper.

This year my chili peppers were greatly helped by the long, hot summer in The Netherlands.

My harvest consists of Aji Citio, Habanero Maja Red, Habanero Chitzen Itza, Habanero Magnum Orange, Habanero Kukulkan and Habanero Burning Bush.

Next year my peppers will have competition from bananas, although I do not expect any fruit in 2014. I shall have to learn to be patient.

Still pouring over my catalogs for this year's experiments...
