I'm in the Tampa, Florida area but willing to ship if you want to go that route (you pay shipping though)

I have a mature mango tree in my back yard and have a bunch of sprouting seeds from that tree (thanks to the damn squirrels.) I also have some un-sprouted dried seeds that should still be viable. I am not exactly sure which variety of mango they are, but they are the smaller yellow fruits. I would love to get some of these sprouts to a loving home, especially if some banana pups or some other plant is in trade. Let me know if you're interested and I can get you some pics.

They really need to have your mature tree bud wood grafted on to them to be a tree worth growing. Otherwise its a crapshoot and you could end up with fruit that are only good for making turpentine... Have you ever tried grafting. I'm in the Tampa, Florida area but willing to ship if you want to go that route (you pay shipping though)

I have never tried grafting and was not aware that it was necessary. I do know it takes several years for the trees to mature. Still, it seems like such a waste to send a bunch of baby mango plants into the compost!

While I'm far from an expert in mangoes, it was my understanding that polyembrionic mangoes were identical to the parent, monoembrionic are not.
Which are these. ?

ie. how many sprouts?

Dear redswe, while I'm also not an expert on solvents, I thought turpentine was made from pine?
Maybe turpentine mango lemonade...... Of course I'd leave out the turpentine from the description when serving it....

How many sprouts from each seed? Most only have one sprout coming out, though a few have send multiple sprouts from one seed. Some of those I believe were beat up or one of the other sprouts was injured.

I suppose I should also throw out the offer: If you want any trimmings from the mature tree, or want to try air layering it or something I am absolutely open to that as well.

Turpentine Mango is common root stock for many mangoes grown in S Florida. If you plant a seed from one you will probably get a small fibrous mango that has a strong turpentine odor. The fruit is actually tasty you can run it thru a juicer great for smoothies..But not for eating out of hand..
