View Full Version : Winter With Nanners!
I bought two banana plants (or are they trees?) about a month ago when planting around my greenhouse. I think it is an ornamental one. It is called Musa 'Gold Finger'... I have three more that came from OSH which I think is a Blood Banana...? How do I care for these in the winter? I'm in climate zone 9b which gets 25-30F lows at night in winter.
Thanks! :)

You can frost cloth the Goldfinger & Heat-tape it.. :^)

Goldfinger is MUCH hardier than the blood banana. You will probably want to cover both, and add some extra insulation to the blood banana.
Alright, thanks guys! :)
Will they stop growing during winter with days in the 60s and nights in the 30-40 range? And if the blood banana does get too frosty, will it come back from the roots? Would I need to cut it back in some way?
