While working in the backyard I heard the typical scratchy noise of a squirrel running along the top of the fence. He seemed to be moving with a purpose as the noise was continuous. Found him carrying a big piece of fruit in his mouth. He's stop and rip off 2 or 3 chunks of skin then gobble flesh . Then take off again and stop 20 ft later and repeat the process. He was too hungry or greedy to wait till he got home up in the transformer at the end of the property. Luckily I had the camera.

Here he is --- and what kind of fruit is that? Nothing of mine I recognize.

Bite your tongue! I have 3 persimmons on the bigger tree that just fruited for the first time. I think I'll put cages on them!!! Now--- before they start to ripen. lol

Did some looking around. Immature ackee still seems the best guess. Four lobed shell casing. lol
