We mulched four banana mats, about thirty blueberries and a large ornamental planting bed in the front yard with about 100 bags of leaves!

Mulched 11 wheelbarrows worth daily on my bananas the past few days. Have lots more to go. 75% below normal rainfall for 4 months and previous mulch application that has totally decomposed into nothing does not make for happy bananas.

Nice; do you feed the non-container (aka in-ground) bananas with the liquid fert regularly or do you just mix up some slow-release or something and let them go for themselves? :)

I feed the one's in the ground by mixing up a 5 gal bucket of their monthly feed, since most get water everyday..

I was just reading on the plants that produce website how it's only a monthly liquid feed; that sounds terribly convenient (I'm fond of low maintenance fertilizer lol).

Just got some Miracle Gro Soluble All Purpose Plant Food that's similar but has more nitrogen than potassium. Made sure it had most of the micronutrients beforehand though, and it's a bimonthly feed so not too bad. The Magnesium and Calcium it's lacking I'll supply with Epsom Salts and Calcium Carbonate Antacid Tablets :)

About 50 wheel barrows later my banana plants look like this:
