My aunt wants to get some banana plants that will give her bananas "like the store", for her place in St Augustine near the water. She has quite a few orinoco type that have produced some in the past.
What kind would be best for me to get for her? Where is the best place to find them? What about the "Cavandish" offered by places like Lowes?
Any ideas?

Cavendish are a bit cold sensitive, so I'm not sure they are a good choice. Namwah's flavor is similar to Cavendish except more flavorful and sweeter, so that might be your best bet.

Yes, cavendish are the ones she'll find most commonly in the store. Although I much prefer Namwah bananas, I find them not at all similar to any cavendish.

The dwarf cavendish will give fruit that is very similar to the store bought fruit. They are susceptible to choke throat. The dwarf Nam Wah is more cold tolerant than some of the other varieties. The key is to get it to Flower in July so that the bunch will be ready in early November.

So are there recomendations for places that carry good namwah that are reputable? I figure I can raise them in pots until they're hardy/large enough for her to put out in her yard.
I appreciate the discussion. Normally I'm looking for things DIFFERENT from the store bought bananas... she wants the same as them!

Big box stores are undependable for selling accurately labeled nanas. If you decide what you want..post it... you can probably score it on this forum - should be plenty of pups out there ready to be dug...
Happy Growing.
Don't forget; there's [probably] nothing wrong with fixing her up with something "better than" store bought!!!
I'd fix her up with some Namwahs (as already mentioned).
You'd be doing her a favor with the more robust cold hardiness & reliable fruit production.
She may not have much luck with a "warm weather" 'nanner that far North, depending on her specific microclimate.

Jumping on the bandwagon for Namwahs. Also remember, sometimes nurseries selling "Ice Cream" are often also Namwah. I've not tried the fruit yet but hear plenty of it, however I do know the plants themselves are very tough!
