Are there any good greenhouses in or near Port Orange Florida? My son is there visiting for a few days and it would be cool for him to bring back some nice banana trees etc. Any ideas? He will be going north on 95 coming home if there are some good greenhouses on the way back. Thanks!

Okay, I'll bite. I think the reason nobody has replied to your post is, that you are not very specific.
Which one of you is living further north and would he bring the bananas to you or from you? Do you
consider his 'home' your place or the place, where he lives now?
Should those greenhouses be available north from Port Orange or south?

I understand the question. I am sure there are plenty of nurseries were you could pick up a banana plant. Heck home depot or lowe's

When I was in clearwater in June I was very dissapointed at the lack of greenhouses and selection. Lowes and HD had NO bananas and very little of anything else..if you need a 15 ft palm for 100 bucks thats the place..anything else might as well order off the net.

I think you get out of your experience as much research as you put into it.. Make contact ahead of time and nurseries what selection they have on hand & such.. I think heading a lil further south and it would be a gold mine, but people in the daytona area may have some input.. :^)

This was a last minute trip for my son and I thought maybe he would be able to pick up some banana trees I don't already have. I have ordered some online. I received some very nice trees from Greenearth co. and some so-so/damaged plants from Florida Hill. I'll take a look at Wellspringardens and see what they have. Thanks!

Most Walmarts along that route have Cavendish and Ice cream.
