Hello friends,

I happened to know there is a cold hardy edible banana "Musa Jhapari"
originated from northern India.

Is anybody growing this banana? and if so, can you tell about the followings?

1. Cold hardiness in comaparison with Ice Cream or Dwarf Orinoco or the simillars.
2. Is it dwarf or tall?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like you found this one at Essbananen (http://www.frosthartepalmen.de/index.php/component/virtuemart/view/category/virtuemart_category_id/30)

I have the Musa Chini Champa which is very cold tolerant. Comes from hill country --- Kalimpong, Bengal, India.

Frosthartepalmen offers the CC too and it's 25 € compared to the Jhapari at 45 €.

I have a Musa Rajapuri, which hails from India. It is a cold hardy dwarf plant which grows to 6-8'.

Raja Puri, Dwarf Namwah and Dwarf Brazilian were my strongest cold tolerant naners. All have been replaced by new stuff. Don't have lots of room. Still have many pups potted for those that want them.
