I usually would put a little in the planting hole. From my experience, when you have 3 new leaves you have regrown a lot of roots.

I am in north east thailand have not bought fertilizer yet.
I do have access to alot of cow manure
is 85 degrees here today and light rain.
When planted added cow manure compost leaves are starting to pop out.
I am thinking about buying as close to banana fuel as possible..
any thoughts

If you have lots of cow manure, I'd start putting it out.

You can fertilize now, but I'd stray from using cow manure. Compost it a bit before using or it might have too much nitrogen.
