Lots down here in South Florida too. Generally I've avoided spraying, but occasionally have had to spray nearby palms to control the soot.

The big praying hands seems to tolerate a lot of spiral white fly activity on its leaves.

I have big ficus hedge nearby, been shortening it to control it and the white fly.
I may have to remove it and start over, probably with small leaf cocoplum that most everyone is going to around Miami. I've seen some podocarpus plantings around also.

Good luck!

I spray when I see them on my nanners. They are also on palm trees.. my back door neighbour has them on her bananas and she never sprays.. I have black sooty mold on my x77 papaya just this month. I been using achol on it with pretty good results ..
I hate them stinking white flies.. I never had so much trouble untill my neighbours decided to get Musa also. So I just spray Neem oil as needed about five dollars a month worth. Mixed as per instructions. And weekly here also

I have them, but they are not bad. Some of the general predators may be keeping a lid on them.

Hate to say the "C" word. Our best hope to control dooryard whitefly is some real cold weather. Luckily our stems are subterranean.
