We don't want to have a landline anymore and have computer access through work and also have wifi on are iPad. We are looking for a cell phone bill that's cheap and simple. We don't talk on the phone very often and rarely call long distance. We have a cheap phone card phone but that might not be the best deal now days having to buy cards to renew the mins. Battery hasn't been charged forever either so might not be good anymore. Want a basic cheap phone with no options as in extras. Years ago we had cell phones and seemed like we always had hidden fees or prices went up every couple months and nothng changed usage wise. so got rid of them seven years ago. Thanks for any insight.

Try Page Plus, a friend was just telling me how great they are. You can buy minutes that last for a year or a plan and they are cheap and reliable.

Have you checked into Virgin Mobile?
We bought a cell phone for my "Mother-in-law" just for emergencies. It is $20 for 90 days or 100 minutes ( which equals $6.66 per month). Minutes can be rolled over. Or you pay $90 for an entire year/450 minutes.

try "consumer cellular" and see if it is to your needs, I use it for emergencies only.
