Hey all,
I've been growing bananas for a couple of years now and I am probably one of the only people in my area that grows them. Yesterday when I was working in my back yard, in an overgrown part of the garden that I hadn't really touched and lo behold in the middle of some stinging nettles and some brambles was a miss basjoo. This was the first time I had ever seen a banana in the UK that hadn't been planted by me. so I dug it up and then put it in my banana area.

Hi Robert

Im surprised you can get Helens through our winters even protected,do you have a micro climate in your garden, its 50/50 Helens coming through our winters even when we have a mild one.

Yeah its in quite a sunny spot, with a warm wall nearby. Also the protection I use is black so it absorbs heat.
