I got my hands on a Nepenthes v.ventrata a huge scary man eating plant that terrifies my neighborhood kids, well not really. That is what everyone thinks about carnivorous plants or at least I did, am I the only one?

This was this morning and overnight it caught a spider and a fly, awesome!

If you look closer you can identify both the fly and the spider being dissolved by the enzymes of the pitcher. Kind of cruel but not really is just nature. The fact is we all have to eat something that was once a living thing. It does not matter if it was Lettuce, Pork, chicken,____ you fill the blank. (watch Discovery Channel for details)

Isn’t that beautiful? I think so.

I have seen pictures of larger plants like that where mice fall in.

I guess I could go out and dig up some pitcher plants which grow locally. Once I noticed in a track left by a bulldozer I had hired that there were sundews growing in it. Probably could not duplicate that again. Succession of other plants had years ago taken over the sundews.
