View Full Version : Leafs burned by the sun?

My problem was the direct sun was so hot that most of the leafs were been burn literally. In Texas the temperature can rise to about 110 or more in June/July/Aug today is not bad and it is going to be 105. In top of that add the fact that the Sunrise at 6:30 am and Sunset at 8:39 pm i am not a mathematician but I think that add up to about 14 hours a day.

What I did was simple, I bough some Sun Screen Shade Cloth from Home Depot and made a square around my plants with 2X4's and put the cloth over it. The cloth is not to block the sun because is semi transparent but it can reduce the temperature to about 5 to 10 degrees less, not bad.

Here is how mine actually look like. Not a monumental engineering achievement but it works for me.
