*** I guess I have much to learn....... I have read that Aeae bananas only mature half at best of their suckers. I found that to be true. I had 13 suckers before hurricane Sandy knocked down my mature plant with fruit. I replanted the stalk after the fruit matured 2 months later. It by then had formed 6 more eyes or large buds to become plants. I replanted it only to get a single plant and from the original plant with the 13 pups only 3 are left growing. I cut out 3 and gave them away at least 3 feet tall and all three of them died.
Moving onto another very puzzling situation I bought a musa milky way TC plant. It grew FANTASTIC. I have read of many people being very unhappy with their plants but to my dismay mine grew like wild fire. I have gotten within 2 years probably 15 to 18 plants. The first 2 of my plants to produce a flower/cone were white but with a strong hint of rose. Since I have had from the same mat of plants 3 more to produce cones that ARE totally STONG ORNATO color. I have lost the white cones and have now had maroon cones. So much for TC plants. They are not reliable.
I have also bought 2 plantains from a nursery in Tampa. I have gotten a cone from one of them that has fruit that is less than 3 inches long. They should have been 6-10 inches from the cone. I do not know if this is the nursery or the T/C lab but I have had to adjust my thoughts and trust.
And I thought I knew so much about bananas........
