I planted a 8 inch banana pup that i cut from the mother plant 3 weeks ago. It does not seem to be growing an the mother plant seems to be not doing so well. The mother plant is about a foot. I fertilize it with miracle grow plant food once a week, mixed in with water. I water it once every day. Why is it not growing, and can I help it?
I am in Zone 7.

Don't fertilize if it is not growing and cut way back on the water. I water twice a week.

What Tony said... Cut WAY back on the water!!!
I thought banana pups need to be at least 2 feet tall before cutting and planting them?

The taller the better, in my experiences... But I have separated 4 and 6 inch pups before...

They need to have their own roots!!!
Beat way to insure this is to wait till it grows at least 3 true leaves after the last sword leaf. Meaning round - ish. No matter what the height is.
Very annoying to have to toss pups that fail to grow out.
