Hello Friends,

I have a pot of Cal.Gold which is about to flower with suckers in the pot.

What do you do in this case? Do you give the priority to the flower bud,
and sacrifice the suckers? Or do you leave them as they are?

The pot is 60Lit plastic container.

Leave them. It's not good to separate suckers while flowering, especially if they're in a pot.

Hello Tony,

Thanks for your comment, but what I wanted to know was what you would
do as the best solution in that case.

Then what do YOU think the best to do in that case?

Wow - a Japanese Cali Gold -
My 2 cents
I wouldn't separate the pups now- the mother pstem is either going to produce good naners or not. Messing with it right would weaken all the plants. The corm and pups will survive for another day if you leave it be - mama pstem is already history.
separate and repot later

At that size, those suckers aren't competing for light with the mother stem, and probably aren't using much in the way of nutrients or water relative to the mother. And removing them will cause some damage to the corm. I'd leave them.

Plantations typically leave 2-4 suckers on bananas up to the point of fruiting and beyond. Separating now is out of the question as it will damage root/corm and compromise the health of the main plant. If you ask me, you have the 'optimal' situation as it sits. Just leave it and enjoy. Once the plant fruits, it will die and those pups will take over to become the next generation. Removing them would just cause subsequent fruiting to take longer.
