Hello my name I Matt, I currently own one musa basjoo in a pot about 4' and getting ready to plant it in the ground. I live in zone 8A/7B, chesapeake, VA little south of VA Beach. I recently dug up a 16x3 plot to plant more banana plants. I still need to amend the soil and am fertiziling currently with miligranite. I'm looking for advice on which plants to grow, the area gets 9-12hours of direct sun, and its against a privacy fence for added protection but also has a nice breeze flow through. My wife and I want it more so for privacy for our pool and not fruit producing, however if a fruit producing works ill switch fertilizers. In winter ill create a make shift green house that's 6 feet tall like a lean to style with the fence. I'm thinking about ordering offline for tissue cultured basjoos but was also wondering on hardiness of the ice cream banana plant. Thanks sorry for the rambling I'm floating around in my pool currently lol.http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z268/Goolsbymd/image_zpsf29c6c08.jpg

What type of soil do you all recommend? Currently its decent top soil with bits of clay and sand, im not opposed to digging up a few feet and replacing it with outstanding soil.
