Hi! I am new here and need some advice. Someone gave me 3 banana trees that he dug up and placed in pots. I brought them home and got them in the ground quickly and gently. 2 of the 3 started drooping and now has yellow and brown leaves! I don't know what to do! I watered them well and added sand to the soil while planting. Should I cut the leaves off or just wait. Will they die or is this normal?? Thanks in advice

You can cut them off they'll die anyway. The plant will be fine .

Those leaves will die and that is normal after transplanting. As long as there is some green I would just let them be as there is still some photosynthesis going on. Careful with watering as long as the root system is not developed. But mycorizae or superthrive can speed that up a bit.
What is your soil? You mentioned that you have added sand, but bananas also love organic matter like compost. Mulch them over.

My soil started out as black dirt with clay in it then I added miracle grow potting soil to it before planting all my plants. All I have on hand is miracle grow and Epsom salt so I will hit Home Depot ASAP. My smaller banana tree did the same but all the leaves are dying so I am wondering if maybe I should chop the whole thing down to 6" or so

No reason to chop the p-stem. Just give it time to establish.
Do not fertilize it until you see new growth. You did not mention where you are located and how your climate is. It might take a while for the plants to get established.
Best of luck!

Should be a very happy banana plant in no time. Just give it time, compost and very little water.
