I visited our local nursery and they were selling small pups( around 1oinches) of a variety called Tropicana.I spoke to the lady and said I think it is not a variety but more of a commercial name and she argued with me saying it is a variety for indoor planting. there was no information in this plant except it need bright light nad temp between 25-18C.

Hi sups

As far as i have read on the forum, SDC.

.... I bought the same plant labelled Musa tropicana here in the Europe and it turned out to be Musa 'Super Dwarf Cavendish' (http://www.bananas.org/wiki/Musa_Super_Dwarf_Cavendish).

Not suitable outdoors for winter and spring in the UK :D
