A few months ago I was in search of a thousand fingers and a praying hands, found the thousand fingers at a plant show at our local botanical garden this past March. So it's in the ground and it's very happy, a leaf every week and now just a few days ago I noticed 2 pups (Hooray) so I go out this morning to yank the relentless weeds from around it and find that one of the pups has a blush or a definite red blotch on one side of the leaf, it's pigment... not a burn. Is this normal in this type banana, the Mother plant has all dark green leaves without any red/blushed streaking...I wanted a thousand fingers I hope this is what the guy said it was and not a mystery nana.
Any ideas??

I have 3 with many pups on them. Have never seen any red blotches.

I have to figure out how to post pics on this website...that would help.

I can't imagine he sold me something else all he does is sell bananas from Miami/homestead...I suppose it happens though.

Thanks

BTW...how old do your 1000 fingers get before they bloom?

2 of mine that were TCs took under a year. One I bought as a sword sucker is at 18 months and months from blooming. It could just be mine didn't have red, so don't give up hope. I just tasted these for the first time. Better than I expected.

Let see some of where the petioles attach to the pseudo-stem of the main plant. They have an outward fold on mine. Those spots are pretty faint. It's possible I had them and didn't notice. They aren't like on a cavendish.

Today I have more red in the leaf a little darker and now some on the other side as well, I uploaded more pics. The other pup has remained all green so far.

Looks similar to mine. Pretty much all green with some black and the edge of the petiole curls near the p-stem.
