Hi everyone!

My name is Jesse, and I've caught the banana bug! I live in Western Washington, in the small town of Seabeck. I'm hoping to add cold hardy bananas to my landscape.

I've been growing M.Basjoo, M.'Mekong Giant', and Musella Lasiocarpa for a little over a year now. I just added M.Sikkimensis 'bengal tiger' to my (growing!) collection a few weeks back. Most my bananas are still growing in pots in my unheated greenhouse. I wanted to get them to a nice big size before planting them outside.

Can anyone suggest other cold hardy bananas that I might try?

Thanks!
Jesse

Welcome, look around the site, someone might help out. Not much of a concern here in Florida. Also check out Wiki on this site, got info there to get you started and then "Google". Some of the sellers of T/Cs have a good variety and many are very reliable, not all.
Good growing and stay healthy.

Hello and welcome to the bunch!

I currently have the following growing up here (in ground):
* Musa Basjoo
* Musa 'California Gold'
* Musella Lasiocarpa
* Ensete Ventriconum
* Ensete Glaucum
And soon to be added to my collection will be:
* Musa 'Mekong Giant'
* Musa 'Gran Nain' (fingers crossed)
* Musa Sumatranan
My list wish includes:
* Musa Sikkimensis
* Musa Velutina
Some of these need, or will need, winter protection but I hope this gives you some more suggestions. :)
