I'm interested in buying a Ensete maurelii (Red Abyssinian Banana). I really like the look of it. Anything similar would be good too.
I'm a newbie and have no idea where to get them or how much they go for. I currently own a grand nain which I've managed to keep alive throughout winter. It's my only baby, so I have nothing to offer for trade except for $ .
P.S.
I'm in Toronto, Ontario
Thanks!

You might want to try Perry at Flora Exotica
Flora Exotica - Exotic Plants (Flowers, Fruits, Foliage, Vegetable & Herb) (http://www.floraexotica.ca/indexE.htm); he does not have any listed but might be able to get.
You could also try Mike at Montreal Plants
Welcome to MontrealPlants.com! (http://montrealplants.com/); again he does not list any but he might be able to get one for you
* both are out of Montreal
Hawaiian Botanicals in Richmond, BC has them listed Exotic Plants at Hawaiian Botanicals (http://hawaiianbotanicals.com/exoticplants.html)
But I find I get very little response when ever I try to contact them.....they also list the Red Abyssinian as zone 10 and says it can not survive outside (Van Dusen Gardens here in Vancouver - zone 8 - has a very large one that they wrap in the winter). However you would have to over-winter inside in zone 5
Hope this helps.

You could also try Ray at Tropic to Tropic out of Delta, BC. Very nice guy to deal with and very helpful, and he does ship across Canada
Musa maurellii 'Ensete' The Red Banana » Tropic to Tropic Plants (http://www.tropic.ca/musa-maurellii-ensete-the-red-banana/)
