I stored a bunch of musa basjoo dormant in my basement over the winter. It's been 2 months now since I potted them up for the spring. While the stems died back to the corm on 3 of them, the corm remains firm and has no indication of rot. However, there are no pups growing.
Anyone know what's going on? No rot, yet no growth. Just firm corms doing nothing. I checked under the soil and there are new white roots on 2 of them. Just trying to figure out if/when I will see growth!!

Patience friend! They will show soon, get them lots of warmth. How are your windmills recovering?

Hi Tim,
Bananas are subject to transplant shock. Sometimes they continue on in their new location as
if nothing has happened, other times it will take them up to two months, before they recover
and show new growth.
Bringing them out from the basement certainly qualifies for a major transition.
Just do like Brady says. Add some warmth and exercise patience. :)
Meanwhile you may want to rethink your method of getting them through the winter: Leave
them outside in the ground and protect them there. If you do that properly, they will start
growing, as soon as the weather is warm enough and you take the cover off. – Promise!

you have to wait until the nighttime temps rise, til then daytime temps don't really matter, for any significant growth that is. Hang in there!
