Hey guys,
So happy to have found this excellent forum!! Recently purchased my first two Musa Basjoo's and having some difficulty. . I had them in coconut fiber mixed with cow manure but they didn't seem too happy.. Wet feet perhaps? The coco fiber was a little dense.. Apparently over-fed with a general miraclegro that burnt them =/ 20-20-20 i think. . . The new growth that came after the feeding has turned yellow as it looks in the pic, hopefully it will work.. I have now repotted with 50/50 african violet soil (lower ph) and cow manure. Added a handful of perlite and sand to the mix as well. Also added about 4 cups milorganite, and some super thrive. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

I don't see the picture.. for some reason.. I know yellow isn't good, wet feet maybe.. Might want some more perlite.. Does the pot have drainage to a reservoir? A pot w/o holes in the bottom is asking for trouble. :^)

Hey abnshrek,

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes plenty of drainage in new pot, yellowed before I repotted so we'll see how she responds.. The other is in the ground.. Let me try photo bucket to get the pics up.. Thanks

Maybe this will work lol.. Sorry

FYI: the potted musa is under a 600w metal halide when we get a rainy day.
