One of my friends caught their kids trying to grow a marijuana plantation in the desert behind their house so I snatched up the fertilizer they were using. It's 18-18-21, should I try this on my bananas? It's a lot higher than the numbers I've seen on here.

The numbers listed are percentages, and the fertilizer will be safe to use if you adjust the amount you use...
For instance, if your Bananas were smoking 3 joints of 6-6-7 every day, they will only require 1 joint of 18-18-21 every day...

Those numbers are identical with the "miracle gro" brand tomato fertilizer. It is not too bad and if I remember it right from the Wiki about fertilizer, there are members on here who are using it. I personally have tried it once because I did not have anything else available. The banana plants did not get burned but the new leaves were funny curled up. The banana plants grew faster than they were able to use the micronutrients, so that is why the leaves were discolored and curled. However, you might be able to get better NPK percentages by mixing it with some other fertilizer. Check out the Wiki about fertilizer and how to make your own custom blend with fertilizers you already have available. BTW: I have mixed 2# of wellsprings blend banana fuel with 1# 18-18-21 (both water soluble) and I had better success.

Should be fine, if used sparingly!
