I am a few hours away, but if you come way down here. I can give you pretty much as MANY pups as you would like.

Ditto if you make it to Tampa.

I met a woman in Fort White today. She has cold hardy bananas for sale. but some are not labeled. Her website is Dreaming Of The Tropics Nursery - Home (http://www.ilovemyplants.com).
If you're still looking, someone is selling bananas on the Lake City CL; they're in Ft. White. They don't mention varieties but say they are rare and grow in North Florida. $5 is the price mentioned. I scan ads all the time; I even sent a friend of mine down to a "Friday only you dig" event a few weeks ago in Palm Bay. Ostensibly he dug for me but he's keeping them so that's the end of a nearly 7 year relationship. (Reminds me of my old fig cuttings wars...brutal! ;) )

Hey Kat - sorry you missed the nana meet in P'cola - you mention fig cuttings above - what brand of figs do you have - I have celeste and Brown turkey - trying to get some green cuttings taken from LSU orchard on fig day to grow but not much luck - only Holliers has taken. Hope to return to LSU during dormant season Jan/Feb.

I was always partial to those that produce breba and fall crops; BT does not and I don't think Celeste does either. (Had both.)
If you really like eating figs (which I don't--just loved propagating them) then you need to verify that new varieties "double crop". Essentially that means nearly a continuous harvest from early summer through fall.
I'm sorry I missed the meat...er...meet also. You all should be glad I did--I'm one of those kinda skinny people buffet owners think they'll make a killing on. Ha! When I'm "charged" up, I make those guys who swallow a bazillion hot dogs in 2 minutes flat look like amateurs. ;)
