As my 11 foot high banana plant starts to recover from the winter, it has sent out a flag leaf with one only one regular leaf on the plant. The plant is about a foot thick at the base and in good health.

It is suppose to be a blue java but who knows

Do you think it will make bananas?

I was surprised it flaged at 12 months old.

Good then.

The next question to be answered is will it be a true blue java?
Eleven to twelve feet fruiting height and twelve months from small tissue culture plant is this with in the specs for a blue java?

It want matter a great deal if it isn't. I got my first banana plant to bloom. That is exciting enough.
