Default Barbados "Fig" it is a type of Banana

I'm from Barbados and the islanders have made up names for plenty of plants.

An avocado is a "pear", their small types of bananas are called "figs", etc.

I am hoping someone has either lived or visited Barbados and can help me figure out what is a Bajan "fig".

I'm sorry but I don't have a picture of it.

The banana is a small tree, grows about 6 to 7 feet. Leaves are completely green. The fruit is short about 4 to 6 inches and very stubby. It goes from being very starchy (will make you mouth pucker) if eaten even when yellow, you have to wait till the skin on the fruit splits, then it is one of the best tasting fruit I have ever had.

Sounds like 'Manzano' aka 'Silk Fig', a very common and popular banana.
