Since I have been a member I have learned that Basjoos tend to pup very frequently and can put up a very large mat of pups given the right conditions. Before I make any big steps with planting I wanted to know what would be the best spacing for my Basjoos. I have one planting site already prepped for them roughly 10 feet by 12 feet. I don't want the bananas to be choked out by each other while they put on summer growth. How many plants can I put in that space to give them optimum room for size and healthy growth? I have a picture of the garden in my gallery.

Looks like you have six of them?????
Two feet apart in a w pattern will work .
Three feet will work also.
I wish I had your challenge !!!:08:

yeah youll want plenty of room. In april 2011 i planted 1 basjoo. By fall I had 3 large p-stems and had removed and replanted 4 pups. by march of 2012 after cutting them back for winter i had the 3 large p-stems come back plus another 8 pups. You will feel like all you do is remove pups.
