I have a bunch of recipes that I've changed and tweaked over time. When can I consider these my own recipes and no longer the original recipe? What is the "cook's" etiquette for this? If I publish these recipes, do I still need to name the original author?

Have you ever noticed how many different cookbooks and websites devoted to recipes there are? Every personal recipe is a slight derivation of another recipe. I learned to make burritos from my mother, who learned to make them from a former boyfriend. None of our burritos are quite the same. The original had potatoes, my mother used refried beans and omitted potato, and I use kidney beans and have added corn.
