Hello,

If I were to buy the Ice Cream and Manzano listed at Wellspring Gardens
Results for BANANA PLANTS (http://www.wellspringgardens.org/servlet/the-BANANA-PLANTS/Categories),
would I in fact then be getting a tall Namwah and tall Brazilian? I guess that's OK although I kind of wanted dwarf. Thanks!

I order both of these types from them. At this point I do not think I have either.

I have ordered Ice Cream from them 2 years ago as did friends of mine . None of us get Ice cream. mine never grew I still have it , its 4 feet tall and wimpy..
I have seen lots of good plants come from them other than ICE CREAM
Id suggest you place a want add here on the Org and get a pup from some one who actually has them

I think you'd be getting tall namwah and manzano. Not sure about the manzano, but I do have an "Ice Cream" from them and it is tall namwah, and very healthy.

Well I wouldn't mind a tall Namwah or Manzano but I think I'd prefer the dwarfs.

Hammocked yes I do that's why I have ordered them yet. I also have an area in between where I live and this dirt street and I want to put nanners there but with some of the winds we get (including the Santa Anna), I would need very sturdy nanners...maybe Raja Puri for dwarf and Saba for tall?

Sorry if it sounds a little off topic, but I'd actually love to see data/posts on who got what in the end from what varieties at Wellspring or Florida Hill. I ordered Rajapuri, Thousand Fingers, and "Ice Cream" but other than my guess that I've got a Namwah instead, I'd love to see what my chances are for the other varieties. (And how often nurseries truly do offer the real thing)

I dont know if it is really Wellsprings fault. I am pretty sure he told me that they order from Agristarts.

Oh yeah, it's an Agristarts thing, and that's where the source of the mistrust is. Just about any TC source, they're likely from Agristarts who mixed up a lot. I've gotten a "Double" from them that with its age over 8 months and height under 2 feet, is definitely not even a normal dwarf Cavendish.

I know people have gotten mixed up with TCs but and while mine from Wellsprings are still too small to say for sure, at least I know the red I ordered is a red! :) The other problem is my TCs take so long to take off and grow. Oh well at least the prices are good.
