Hello all Ive had a few people tell me now that growing banana from seed is very hard? Please can some one tell me if I can do it and how??

Ive not realy found any good info or how to videos how to do it.
Id liek to try and grow things like, Musa sikkimensis - Darjeeling Red tiger MUSA BLOOD BANANA etc

People say that geting them to germinate is very tricky. It can be done using an airing cubord if the temps are around 30 to 35 mine is so thats a start. But what do i do when i get the seeds What is the easyest or best way?
what soils, do i use, or perlite, baggie method clear plastic tub soaking etc etc etc. I am at a loss. I really want to jump in and order some seed but untill i know how I am holding back so can anyone pweeze help me??

Even if I only get one to grow it would make me a happy banana!:goteam:

Also I have been told if i plant a type of seed it dosnt mean its the plant i would get ???:2728:

Happy growing and best wishes,
steve.:03::03:

Although I'm by no means an expert, and there are plenty of other people here who are more experienced than me, I've recently had some success in germinating Ensete Ventricosum seeds. You can have a look at what I did under "Ėnsete Ventricosum spouting!" in the Germination Forum. I'm in the UK.
